In loving memory
26 June 1971 – 13 September 2026
Nikolaus Mehl's life was built around three things he loved most: Jehovah, his family, and computers. His passion for technology never really switched off. It wasn't unusual for his family to find him still awake at 3am, working through a new framework or programming language just because he couldn't stop learning. What made him different was how he brought his two biggest passions together. He loved that his skills with computers could serve his relationship with Jehovah, and that love took him around the world with his Bethel team, building hub and learning firsthand how the organization worked. Beyond the screens and the scriptures, Nikolaus also had a real soft spot for nature and animals. He was completely fearless around them, and his field service partners knew that if a dog showed up, Nikolaus was going to stop and try to make friends with it.
When it came to choosing a flower to represent him, sunflowers were the obvious choice. To us, they capture him exactly as he was.
